July 21st
I went on a lovely hike in this natural park called Chipinque only 30 minutes away from the city by car. After hiking for about 2 hours on a very sort of mellow path we found ourselves on a T-split. One way, a mild road that was 3 kilometres, the other way a harder one that only lasted 1 kilometre. We were torn which one to take, but decided that even if it was harder the 1 kilometre road would save us time. Little did we know what would be ahead of us. Turns out, it was indeed only 1 kilometre, except it was a straight almost stairs up to the top of the mountain. It probably was one of the hardest hikes I have ever done due to the extreme elevation, and the heat (we ended up doing the hike around 11AM, way too late with the sun right above us already). We had to take multiple breaks to catch our breaths. After we finally arrived to the top we were rewarded with this beautiful view. It was very though but we were happy to have made it, and all thought it was more than worth it in the end. After almost 5 hours of hiking (we did about 13 km) we finally returned to the car and grabbed some fried chicken for breakfast.
